Legal
Terms of Use
Effective August 3, 2026
1. What this is
nobodyreads.me ("we", "us", ".me") is operated by Entropy Fox, registered in Denmark (CVR no. 37390992). We run a hosting platform where each person keeps a personal "plot" — their own space to publish writing, and in future other media. By creating an account or a plot, you agree to these terms.
You must be at least 16 to create an account, and at least 18 (or the age of majority where you live, if higher) to hold a paid subscription, either as a reader or as a creator receiving payouts.
2. Your account and your plot
You own what you publish. We host it; we don't claim it. You're responsible for keeping your account credentials secure and for everything published under your plot, including content posted by anyone you've given access to it.
3. Acceptable use
This applies to everything you publish on your plot — posts, media, and anything placed behind a paid subscription. Paying to publish something, or charging others to read it, is never an exception to these rules.
You may not publish content that:
- Infringes copyright or other IP rights. Publish only work you created or have the rights to use. See Section 5 for how we handle infringement claims.
- Is illegal where you or your readers are located, or facilitates illegal activity — including fraud, sale of prohibited goods, or scams.
- Sexualizes minors, in any form. Zero tolerance, no exceptions.
- Threatens or incites violence against a person or group.
- Is targeted harassment — sustained abuse aimed at a specific person.
- Doxxes someone — publishes a person's home address, government ID, or other private identifying information without their consent.
- Attacks or dehumanizes people based on race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, disability, sex, gender identity, or sexual orientation.
This list isn't exhaustive. Comments left by readers on any plot are additionally governed by a platform-wide discussion policy that sets a floor every conversation here has to meet, on top of the rules above.
We may remove content that violates this policy and suspend or terminate accounts that violate it repeatedly or seriously. Where a paid subscription is involved, removal does not entitle the plot owner to any commission already paid out on the violating content.
You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from any claim, loss, or expense — including reasonable legal fees — arising from content you publish or your breach of these terms.
4. Paid plots and subscriptions
Some plot owners offer paid subscriptions, or sell an individual post on its own. nobodyreads.me is the merchant of record for all of it: we bill the reader, we collect and remit the VAT, our name is on the receipt and the card statement, and we pay the creator their share.
If you're a reader
You can cancel a subscription at any time from your subscription settings. Access continues to the end of the period you've already paid for. We don't refund a period already in progress except where required by law or at our discretion — write to legal@nobodyreads.me for individual cases.
If something has gone wrong with a payment, contact us before disputing the charge with your bank. We can usually resolve it faster, and a dispute raised without warning takes the money from the creator before anyone has looked at the problem.
If you're a consumer in the EU, EEA, or UK: subscribing gives you immediate access to digital content before the usual 14-day withdrawal period would otherwise end. By subscribing, you expressly request that access begin immediately and acknowledge that you lose the right to withdraw once access to that period's content has started, to the extent permitted by applicable consumer law (e.g. Article 16(m) of EU Directive 2011/83/EU).
If you're a creator
We keep a commission of 5% of the net amount — what remains after VAT and the payment processor's fees — and the rest is yours. There is no monthly charge and nothing is due until you earn. Because VAT differs by the reader's country, the exact amount you earn from a given price varies; your payments settings show what each sale actually earned rather than an estimate.
Payouts are made through Stripe. To receive them you open a Stripe Express account through us and accept the Stripe Connected Account Agreement , which governs that account directly between you and Stripe. Payouts follow the schedule Stripe applies to your account; we don't hold your money back beyond what's described here. A subscription price must be at least €2 per month — below that, fixed card fees consume most of the payment.
Changing your price affects new subscribers only. People who already subscribed continue at the price they agreed until they cancel.
If a reader is refunded or wins a chargeback, the share we paid you for that sale is reversed. Where it can't be taken back — typically because it has already been paid out to your bank — we deduct it from your future earnings, and we may pause payouts until the balance clears. We absorb the payment processor's dispute fee ourselves; you are not charged for it, since you have no way to influence whether a reader disputes a payment.
Plot owners are responsible for reporting and paying any income tax due on their share of subscription revenue in their own jurisdiction. VAT on the sale to the reader is collected and remitted by nobodyreads.me as merchant of record, under VAT number DK37390992.
5. Copyright complaints
If you believe content on nobodyreads.me infringes your copyright, send a notice to legal@nobodyreads.me identifying the work, the material you believe infringes it, and its location on the site. We will investigate and remove infringing content where warranted.
If content of yours is removed and you believe that was a mistake, you may send a counter-notice to the same address explaining why. We may reinstate the content if the original claimant doesn't pursue the matter further within a reasonable time. Accounts found to repeatedly infringe will be terminated.
6. Termination
You may close your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate a plot that violates Section 3, or where required by law. Where reasonably possible, you'll be given a chance to export your content first.
You can't delete an account while money is still moving through it. If people are paying to read your plot, switch your supporter tier off and let the existing subscriptions run to the end of their periods first, so nobody is charged for a plot that no longer exists. If you support other plots, cancel those subscriptions before you delete, or they would keep billing you after your account is gone.
7. Your data
What we collect, why, who processes it on our behalf, and how to get it deleted are set out in our privacy policy, which forms part of these terms. In short: we collect what running the service requires, we don't sell personal data, and there is no advertising or cross-site tracking.
Where you publish a plot with an audience of your own, you decide what to do with the people who join, comment on, or subscribe to it — that makes you responsible for how you use those details, and for complying with data protection law when you do.
8. Disclaimers and limitation of liability
The service is provided "as is," without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We don't guarantee it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or fit for a particular purpose, and we aren't responsible for content published by other users.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim arising from your use of the service is limited to the amount you paid us, if any, in the 12 months before the claim arose. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law, including for fraud or for death or personal injury caused by negligence.
9. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Denmark, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, except where mandatory consumer protection law in your place of residence gives you additional rights that cannot be waived.
10. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the platform grows — most notably as audio and video publishing are introduced. We'll post the updated date above when we do, and where a change materially reduces your rights, we'll email account holders in advance.
These terms are the entire agreement between you and us regarding the service. If any provision is found unenforceable, the rest remains in effect.
